Fall 2020 virtual Creative arts
*BRAND NEW CLASS*
Investigating Movie Magic!
Perfect for burgeoning filmmakers, writers or ANY kids who just love movies! We are going to watch some of the popular PIXAR short films we all love and break down HOW the story is successfully crafted. Open discussion and creative expression will ensue (maybe even a little writing.)
Each week students will engage in team building, idea generation, storytelling, and a few improv games to keep the brains engaged! We will explore the famous PIXAR “Rules” for Storytelling and discover how to use them in our own narratives.
For students who already love writing this will allow them to delve deeper into how stories are told and how to tell them even better. For reluctant writers, this class gives them an opportunity to explore the storytelling process without focusing on the mechanics of writing and instead focusing on empowering their creative ideas.
Of course, in all our classes I like to foster collaboration, even virtually, so we go where the ebb and flow of the organic process takes us. This keeps all our classes lively, active and fresh every time!
